SARATOK: The perseverance of Abang Abdul Rahman, a prominent figure who championed education for the local community, continues to inspire the younger generation, says Mohamad Duri.
Speaking at the 100th Anniversary Dinner Celebration of SK Abang Abdul Rahman last night, Mohamad noted the school remarkable legacy over the past century.
“SK Abang Abdul Rahman has not only achieved excellence in academics but has also produced leaders, professionals and successful entrepreneurs both nationally and internationally.
“This success is the result of the tireless efforts and strong determination of Abang Abdul Rahman, a school inspector at the time.”
Mohamad urged today’s youth to draw inspiration from Abang Abdul Rahman’s achievements, stressing the importance of breaking barriers and striving for success.
He further stated that SK Abang Abdul Rahman would continue to play a vital role in ensuring the younger generation keeps pace with the challenges of the digital age and globalisation.
“I am proud of the school’s academic, co-curricular, and character achievements. However, today’s educational challenges require us to be more innovative and progressive. We must strengthen the collaboration between the school, parents, and the community.”
He reiterated his commitment to supporting the school’s efforts in producing quality human capital for the benefit of Saratok’s future.
Established in 1924, SK Abang Abdul Rahman has become a cornerstone of education in Saratok.
Named after Abang Abdul Rahman, who was an influential school inspector and education advocate, the school has a rich history of nurturing successful individuals who have made significant contributions both locally and internationally.
Mohamad reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that the school continues to uphold its educational excellence for the benefit of future generations.
The event was also attended by Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz, former Kalaka assemblyman and current pro-chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
