SIBU: Members of Kelab Belia Lestari came together to give back to the community by distributing 1,000 packs of ‘Bubur Lambuk’ in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sentosa at Kampung Usahajaya Baru, Sentosa, yesterday (Mar 16).
Club chairman Muhammad Mustaqim Hasin said the annual programme, held during the month of Ramadan, is funded by contributions from club members.
“We carried out this initiative without any allocation or sponsorship from external parties,” he said in a statement today.
Since its establishment in 2020, the club has provided a platform for young people to engage in charitable and welfare activities, in line with its mission to foster community involvement.
Mustaqim highlighted that the club not only encourages youths to contribute to society but also helps steer them away from negative influences.
“We understand that many young people are more engaged with social media and other distractions, making them less likely to participate in charitable work.
“That is why we established Kelab Belia Lestari to bring youths together and encourage them to take part in meaningful community service,” he said.
He added that involvement in the club helps prevent young people from engaging in undesirable activities while instilling a sense of responsibility and purpose.
