KUCHING: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Youth chief Robert Ayu believes there are still many unresolved issues from federal to state level, disputes over Sarawak’s resources to the upholding of native customary rights.

He hoped that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leaders would continue to accommodate these discussions effectively and bring forth a consensus that fights for the rights of Sarawakians.

He said GPS and its component parties had worked tirelessly to ensure that not only the voices of Sarawakians are heard, but also the ‘Sarawak First’ stance is maintained to carry out the ‘Sarawak agenda’.

“If Sarawak becomes a developed state through the ‘Sarawak agenda’, it must stand behind a united front that is free from influences beyond our state lines.

“PDP stands ready behind GPS to keep us on the right track,” he said in his Sarawak Day message.

“It is our duty to celebrate Sarawak Day and remember the sacrifices made by our previous leaders to bring about the prosperity that we enjoy today.

“Remember their struggle, and we are obligated to continue the struggle for a better Sarawak. Happy Sarawak Day!”
