SIBU: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) brought a touch of national pride today (July 28) with a badminton clinic featuring national shuttlers Cheng Su Yin and Muhammad Haikal Nazri.

Over 180 young players had the opportunity to learn from the best and engage in friendly matches with the duo.

ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer (ABF) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Lawai Jok said the event was part of Petronas’ 50th anniversary celebrations and aligned with the company’s commitment to community well-being.

“We hope today’s experience will inspire these young players to reach greater heights in badminton,” he said at the closing ceremony held at Sibu Indoor Stadium.

Sibu Division Resident’s representative Maria Nadja Jimmy, who officiated at the ceremony, praised Petronas for its initiative in supporting local sports development.

“This badminton clinic is a testament to Petronas’ dedication to Sarawak,” she said.

As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Petronas is carrying out the “Road to Petronas 50” (RTP50) torch relay.
