KULIM: With only four popular cartoon character costumes including Spider-Man, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse worth RM1,000, two young men from Kampung Seri Kejai here are able to generate an income of up to RM9,000 per month.
Entertainers from ‘Bujang Surprise Delivery’ Mohd Zainal Azmi, 29, and Mohd Azwan Fathullah, 24, have been running the business outside their day job since last year.
“We initially do not expect the high demand for costumed entertainers at events such as weddings, birthday parties and sports activities in the district,” Mohd Zainal told Bernama when met at his home here.
The civil servant said they offered several packages with affordable charges of between RM50 and RM150 per hour according to the event.
“We charge at least RM50 for surprise delivery and RM150 per hour for wedding and birthday, but we do it for free for example for orphanage and elderly homes,” he said.
For Mohd Azwan, who is the holder of a bachelor’s degree in multimedia science, the profession was not just to entertain people but had taught him the meaning of patience. – Bernama
