KUCHING: The twelfth of all Chinese zodiac animals, the Pig is a symbol of wealth. Just its chubby face and big ears alone are taken as signs of fortune.
Realistic rather than idealistic, the Pig is not all talk. He won’t stay idle. He is always on some project and always on the move.
Life for the Pig is enjoyable. He likes to entertain and be entertained, and from time to time he gives himself a treat.
As he is a bit on the materialistic side, he is motivated to work hard. His sense of security comes from actually holding real/material things in his hands.
It can be amusing to watch a Pig at work. He is so energetic and always seems to be enthusiastic, even in jobs that are boring for others.
A Pig is not apolitical. He will take positions of power and status if he has the chance. In fact he thinks that only people with power and status should talk because of their positions and influence.
Men/male Pigs are gentle and often optimistic, which explains why they stay motivated and focused. Once they have a goal, they’ll go into it with everything they have.
When it comes to money they are not Scrooge. In spite of their cool-headedness, they are rather gullible because they trust other people too easily. Hence, they are easy to take advantage of and are often scammed. This weakness can cause them to lose fortunes.
Pigs don’t have the gift of the gab. In fact they are on the quiet side. This is partly why they can’t articulate their knowledge despite their love of learning. They are warm towards everyone, which is a good thing because they don’t converse well.

Female/Women Pigs are fun to be around because they are full of excitement. Whenever possible they attend social events. With easygoing personalities they treat people genuinely, which is why they tend to gain trust.
The downside is they are sometimes too friendly. Being excited by nature, they can intrude into other people’s spaces.
It’s no wonder that the Pig is a symbol of wealth. They have good fortune with it. This does not mean that they have undue advantage. They are such hard workers that money just flow in.
There are a number of things considered lucky for Pigs. Yellow, gray and brown are their lucky colours, and their lucky numbers are 2, 5 and 8.
They better avoid blue and green because these are their unlucky colours, and their unlucky numbers are 1, 7, 9.
Due to their gentle nature Pigs don’t often get angry. Even when they do lose their cool, it’s usually a quiet affair. They would rather compromise and settle things quickly and without too much drama.
Thus they are good in careers that have something to do with charity and raising funds for welfare and other causes. The thing is they want people to live in harmony.
As they tend to have great physique they are physically resilient. They are always energetic, spirited and proud of their natural health. This is why they are sometimes overconfident and overlook some minor symptoms of illness.
What about Pigs in the Year of the Pig? Strangely, the year is most unlucky for them. There are troubles and dangers lurking everywhere. They can get lucky here and there, but on the whole they will need to work hard to avoid pitfalls.
In terms of emotions, there are many ups and downs. This is frustrating and makes them sad at times. It’s best for them to stay put as much as possible.
Changing careers can be troublesome as they may bring unforeseen consequences.
Confronting problems head on is one of the way Pigs deal with situations. Thus at times they can’t see the deeper meaning of an issue. This year there will surely be some confrontations, so they need to be patient and practical.
This year won’t be good for making investments. Good fortune is rather hard to come by. They should not try their luck at the casino.
The luckiest period for Pigs is between April 8 and July 20. They should be on guard between Sept 12 and Dec 2.
In the field of education, some good fortune has been forecast for those seeking higher education. Investing in education will position Pigs to take better advantage of future opportunities.
The love forecast this year is pretty unremarkable. It’s not the year for true romance, though there will be some enjoyable moments.
On the positive side, the lack of any love interest means Pigs can focus on making new relationships. However, they should not be too quick to jump into a relationship as it may lead to some problems.
For Pigs who are already in a relationship, they ought to let their mates know how they truly feel. Failure to do this can mean the breakdown of their relationship foundations.
