Yayasan Sarawak helps Tebedu hold expo

TEBEDU: The Tebedu district office has received a cheque for RM10,000 from the Sarawak Foundation (Yayasan Sarawak) to hold the upcoming Tebedu District Education Expo.

The assistance was given as the district is part organiser of the Sarawak Education Expo which will be held simultaneously throughout the state on June 25.

Tebedu District Officer, Joseph Liaw while chairing a meeting here on Tuesday (June 14) said the expo will be held at Tebedu Community Hall.

He said that the programme was jointly organised by the Tebedu District Office with Yayasan Sarawak, Serian Resident Office and Serian District Education Office (PPD).

The inauguration will be officiated by Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg through the ‘Google Meet’ application, while the expo launching at the event will be done by Tebedu assemblyman Dr. Simon Sinang Bada.

Liaw explained that the expo was organised to disseminate information on educational opportunities provided by Yayasan Sarawak for the members of public, especially to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) graduates who are interested in furthering their studies.

Also present at the meeting were the Principal of SMK Tebedu Disin Nyaum, Sarawak Foundation representative Zamahari Suut; Serian PPD representative Ensnat Sauri, SMK Taee representative Samuel Kruger, SMK Tebedu representative Samjun Nohan, Tebedu Service Center representative Pathehi Abdul Rahman, Public Works Department (JKR) Serian representative Thomas Ngadan, Pemanca Kane Manung and Penghulu Donny Achan.
