KUCHING: Esther Law Lee Poh, the founder and chairperson of YAST Group, celebrated her 50th birthday last night (Dec 11) with a joyous gathering.
The grand celebration was held at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre in Kuching and attended by family, friends and loved ones.
The celebration was attended by notable figures, including Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Ir Lo Khere Chiang;, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching, Datuk Dr Simon Peter Poh Hoon Seng; Deputy State Secretary of Sarawak (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee; chief executive officer of Suara Sarawak and New Sarawak Tribune, Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir; and other dignitaries.
Law expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate her 50th birthday, coinciding with the joyous and meaningful season of Thanksgiving.
“This milestone feels particularly significant as I celebrate it during the joyous season of Thanksgiving.
“It is a day of deep gratitude for all those who have graced my life, and as I reflect, I am acutely aware that I am not walking this journey alone.
“My heart swells with appreciation for the Almighty and my beloved family, cherished friends, and even those souls who I have yet to meet but who will undoubtedly leave their mark in my life.”
She also presented a deeply personal creation, a painting and an accompanying poem titled “Blossoms of Existence”, as a heartfelt token of appreciation to everyone who attended the celebration.
Law has earned global recognition for her accomplishments, including being named the Toastmasters International District 51 Most Outstanding Toastmasters of the Year (2004-2005) and receiving the 10 Outstanding Young Malaysian Awards (TOYM) in 2014.
Her strong dedication to corporate social responsibility led to her receiving the CSR Leadership Award at the McMillan Woods Global Awards in 2017.
She has also been honoured with several prestigious accolades, such as the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) in 2021, the Glamour Women Awards in 2021, and the Movers and Shakers Award (HRD Asia) in 2022.
Most recently, she was recognised with the Outstanding Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Leadership Award, the Asean Great Entrepreneur Award 2024, and the World Outstanding Women Leadership Excellence Award 2024.
