KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has reaffirmed his commitment to improve education facilities by allocating RM300,000 from his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025 funds to improve SK Laksamana’s infrastructure.
During his visit to the school, he said the new allocation complements the RM150,000 RTP 2024 fund, earmarked for upgrading the school facilities.
Supervised by the Sarawak Public Works Department, these works are scheduled to commence in the first quarter of next year.
In addition to his infrastructural support, Yap presented a cheque for RM20,000 to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to support their educational programmes.
Yap said the contribution is part of his ongoing commitment to support education and ensure that students and teachers have access to better facilities for teaching and learning.
“Quality education is the cornerstone of a brighter future, and I will continue to play a pivotal role in enhancing the learning environment in all schools within the Kota Sentosa constituency,” he said.
