KUALA LUMPUR: Yakin Medic Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian provider of active live stem cell therapies, is set to expand into new markets as part of its growth strategy. To support this, the company plans to launch an initial public offering (IPO) on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) Catalist Board in Q4 2025 or early 2026.

The signing ceremony for the Yakin Medic Pre-IPO Singapore Exchange Engagement Agreement was witnessed by Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, and Mr Bhargav Sriganesh, First Secretary of the Singapore High Commission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore.

Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal, also extended his congratulations.

The agreement was signed by Yakin Medic’s Founder, Patrick Tan; Evolve Capital Advisory’s Jerry Chua; and MCI Capital’s Cannis Chan.

The IPO aims to raise RM100 million, with RM70 million allocated for repurposing an existing factory lot in Cyberjaya, while the remainder will fund international expansion, R&D, and satellite laboratories.

Yakin Medic is collaborating with Evolve Capital Advisory as its sponsor and issue manager for the IPO process.

Additionally, MCI Capital Sdn Bhd, managing RM250 million in assets, has been secured as a cornerstone investor through the ASIA IPO FUND, which supports SMEs, including Yakin Medic, in their pre-IPO growth.

Established in 2014, Yakin Medic is a pioneer in regenerative medicine, providing cutting-edge cell therapies across key Asian markets and contributing to Malaysia’s role as a medical tourism hub.

The company specialises in regenerative solutions for chronic conditions, aiming to enhance health and promote healthy ageing.

“Our IPO proceeds will primarily fund Yakin Medic’s expansion into live stem cell therapies alongside other healthcare initiatives.

This milestone strengthens our position in advancing next-generation stem cell treatments globally,” said Tan.

The company plans to commission a new manufacturing facility in Cyberjaya, expected to be operational in 1.5 years, with a target of producing stem cells for 5,000 patients annually by 2027.

Research suggests that administering four injections of 100 million stem cells annually has potential in stabilising diabetes patients, a condition affecting one-third of Malaysia’s population.

Tan highlighted the transformative potential of regenerative medicine in addressing degenerative diseases, ageing, and chronic illnesses.

The global stem cell therapy market, valued at USD 11.8 billion in 2023, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 13.95 percent to reach USD 31.41 billion by 2030, according to Verified Market Research.

“Collaboration with leading biotechnology firms will enhance access to these therapies while upholding ethical and societal considerations in stem cell science,” he added.

With a focus on research, patient care, and global partnerships, Yakin Medic is poised to shape the future of regenerative medicine and make stem cell treatments accessible worldwide.

“Ultimately, Yakin Medic belongs to the people. Stem cells have the potential to enhance quality of life, and we are committed to making this treatment accessible to all,” Tan concluded.
