KUCHING: Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI) teachers and mainstream education teachers are urged to enhance the team spirit for the sustainability of educational institutions.

The collaboration between these teachers is crucial for schools to maintain their status as respected institutions.

Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Semerah Padi headmaster Aida Kertina Hamden Hamid emphasised the importance of teamwork in schools to ensure smooth operations and effective planning.

“I am aware that the teachers at our school are very dedicated and passionate about their work. Our school also attracts many visitors who often praise us.

“Many external parties have submitted requests to visit our school to observe the operation of our PPKI classes. At present, we are not yet ready to receive such visits, but we will be more prepared next year.

“Our teachers are always ready to welcome visitors, as they know this school is on the list of institutions frequently visited by outsiders,” she said this during the closing ceremony of 2024 PPKI Panitia Programme Week at SK Semerah Padi yesterday (Nov 28).

For the record, a variety of programmes were organised by PPKI teachers, including Mathematics Day activities, PPKI traditional sports, and a birthday card creation activity.

Held from Nove 25 to 26, a total of 73 students from the school’s PPKI took part in the two-day event.

Besides, the celebrations culminated in a heart-warming birthday celebration for several special-needs students whose birthdays fall in November.

Present were SK Semerah Padi PPKI senior assistant Rosnani Majit and school administrators.
