Woman rescued after surviving fourth-floor fall

BINTULU: A local woman, who is a holder of a person with disability (OKU) card, survived a fall from the fourth floor of the Sungai Plan flat on Saturday night (Jan 18).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from the Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene, about 3km away, after receiving a distress call at 8.05 pm.

Upon arrival, they found the 42-year-old victim on the roof of the first floor and assisted her down.

The victim did not sustain serious injuries and was handed over to paramedics for a health check-up.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded their operation at 8.34 pm.
