BAU: A woman lost her life in a motorcycle accident along KM18.5, Jalan Bau-Lundu on Sunday.
Bau police chief DSP Jawai Francis said the accident happened around 5.45 pm when the victim identified as Juliana Robertus, 38, was on a solo journey to Lundu.
She added that the fatal crash occurred when the victim’s motorcycle skidded along the slippery road, causing it to crash onto the roadside.
“As a result, Juliana sustained injuries to her face and head, and she was pronounced dead at the scene at about 5.55 pm by paramedics.
“Her body was then taken to the Bau Hospital for a post-mortem,” she said.
Jawai noted that it was raining at the time of the accident.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
