Woman driver dies in collision at road junction

SIBU: A 54-year-old woman died after her car was rammed by a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle while she came out of the junction of Rumah Ledom road at Jalan Salim-Stabau on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Bandat Tuah from Rumah Tuah, Batu 24, Jalan Oya.

District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the accident occurred around 11.40am. The 4WD vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man was going to Durin.

The victim’s body was taken to Sibu Hospital whereas the 4WD vehicle driver was not injured.

Stanley said the case will be investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987.
