SIBU: A 71-year-old female motorcyclist died on the spot after her motorcycle collided head-on with a lorry at a traffic light junction at Grand Heights in Ulu Lanang Road, here yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Ngan Nguok Yiing from Ulu Lanang Road.
It was believed that Ngan was turning into Mantis Road when a lorry, which was heading towards Ulu Lanang Road, could not brake in time and hit her.
Members of the public who witnessed the accident contacted the ambulance. The 38-year-old lorry driver, who escaped unhurt, was detained and later released on police bail.
Police are investigating the case.
