Woman cheats death

MIRI: A woman in her 30s survived a crash after a car that she was travelling in collided with a lorry this morning at KM118 Miri-Bintulu road. The victim was rushed to Niah clinic for medical treatment following the 10am accident by members of the public.

Meanwhile, the lorry driver escaped unhurt. A team of seven firemen from the Miri fire station led by senior fire officer II Abg Muhammad Fhazil, who was at that time battling peat fires in Kuala Baram, rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call on the accident.

The team arrived at the scene at 11.24am. It was not immediately known the cause of the incident as police are still investigating.
