SIBU: A widow Niga Imban has received financial assistance thanks to Rejang Pelagus DAP (Democratic Action Party) for its help recently.

Niga, whose husband, Ulas Manggan, died a few months ago, received bereavement assistance of RM1,000 as she is a recipient of Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) and another RM100 from the welfare department.

The financial aid was presented to the widow by Rejang Pelagus DAP deputy president Bruwin Jumput and present to witness the simple handing over ceremony was its publicity secretary Bajang Ajai.

“Niga is grateful for Kapit DAP service centre’s help in applying for financial assistance. She is also satisfied with the federal government’s policy which has benefited the people,” said Bruwin.

Bruwin also advised the rural folk in Kapit to get in touch with the service centre to obtain the right information on government policies and programmes for the people.

He also urged the people, especially community leaders, to work closely with the local federal government agencies on matters related to the government policy.
