BINTULU: A welfare organisation has urged the community to get involved in the “Gerobok Rezeki” project, an initiative to assist the poor and to avoid addressing poverty with quick fixes.

Sahabat Prihatin Squad made the call after its representative Awangku Muhd Irshad Syafiq presented basic necessities to Masjid Darul Makmur Jepak chairman Mohammad Kawi at the mosque here.

Sahabat Prihatin Squad chairman Nur Haidir Razali said the initiative had done well since its establishment in 2016, accomplishing its core objective to provide basic necessities to those in the B40 income group.

“I hope with the collaboration with Persatuan Anak Warisan Sarawak, everyone will continue to give financial aid in order for us to help the underprivileged.”

Themed “We Care, We Serve, We Spread”, the project provides basic household necessities, including rice, cooking oil, flour, soy sauce, baby diapers and milk, among others.

The donations were also distributed to Masjif At-Taqwa Taqwa RPR Sebiew, Masjid Al Mustaqim RPR Kidurong, Masjid Al Mutaqqin Sungai Plan Lot, Jalan Tanjung Kidurong.
