KUCHING: The State government welfare assistance will continue despite changes of administration at the federal level.
Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the welfare assistance will continue to be provided to those who qualify for it.
“ The state government will continue its welfare assistance and its effort to help the needy in the state in order to ensure that their welfare is taken care of.
“The public is urged to provide the names of those in their area who are in need of welfare assistance and they can forward the details to the welfare department and relevant agencies,” said Rahman during the ‘Ihsan Ramadan’ presentation ceremony held at Darul Hijrah Mosque in Samariang, last Thursday.
He added that disabled persons (OKU) too will continue to receive their monthly welfare assistance from the state government.
A total of 85 senior citizens, single mothers and orphans from Santubong zone (N.4) received their ‘Ihsan Ramadan’ from Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who is Pantai Damai assemblyman. This was followed by presentation of cheques to 43 mosques and suraus with a total value of RM153,000.
