Water supply disruption in Kuching due to pipe repairs

KUCHING: Residents in several areas of the city will experience water supply interruptions today (Dec 28) due to repair works on a 300mm ductile iron (DI) main pipe leak at Jalan Song Thian Chuk, Jalan Padungan. 

A notice issued today by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) stated that the disruption commenced at 10 am and is expected to last until 3 pm.

The affected areas include Jalan Padungan, Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Song Thian Chuk, Jalan Abell, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Chan Chin Ann, Jalan Nipah, Jalan Petanak, and surrounding areas.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, along with several councillors, visited the site to assess and monitor the ongoing situation.

Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for low water pressure or a complete lack of water supply during the repair works.

A water tanker will be mobilised to assist those affected.

Authorities have expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and assured that efforts will be made to restore water supply as quickly as possible.
