KUCHING: Over 130 village heads and community leaders from the Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of Malay villages in Kuching Division are urged to develop their own community profiling database systems to support the Sarawak government in its efforts to promote digital economy.
Assistant administrative officer of the Kuching District Office Suraijah Zainol made the call during a briefing for the village heads and community leaders at Dormani Hotel Kuching, Jalan Masjid here yesterday.
“Community leaders at the grassroots level are also expected to update the census of their respective village data. For instance, the basic household, community facilities, and social organisations.
“From the profile, we at administrative office will able to understand the respective community so that specific issues can be further identified and analysed,” she added.
Suraijah pointed out that the community profile database would provide vital information to the state government.
She also highlighted the need for the village heads and community leaders to familiarise themselves with Information Technology (IT).
