SAMARAHAN: Royal Malaysian Navy Veterans Association (PVTLDM) Sarawak on Wednesday (Sept 1) organised a Food Basket Assistance programme for residents of Taman Samarindah here.

The aid was distributed to 33 household heads in the area who are affected by the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

“I hoped that the assistance would ease the burdens of the people here,” PVTLDM Sarawak president Muhammad Ruslan Sain Abdullah said.

He also expressed his gratitude towards the committee members who were involved in making the programme a success.

A similar programme has also been held for residents in Opar, Bau.

Taman Samarindah was subjected to the EMCO which was later extended following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic until Sept 6.
