Vehicle plunges into ditch, injuring two

LUNDU: A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were injured when their pick-up truck skidded off the road and crashed near the Bau Palm Oil Mill junction today (Dec 1).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said its Lundu station received a distress call at 2.13 pm.

A team was immediately dispatched to the scene, about 37km away.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle in a ditch with both occupants inside.

They were not trapped, but required assistance to exit the wreckage.

The injured pair were then handed over to paramedics and sent to the hospital for treatment.
The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The rescue operation concluded at 3.36 pm.
