KUCHING: The Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Sibu will be closed from Jan 16 to 29 in line with the enforcement of the movement control order (MCO) in Sibu Division.
“Depending on the situation after the MCO period, UTC Sibu is expected to start operating again on Jan 30,” said the State Implementation Monitoring Unit (Simu) in a statement today (Jan 15).
They said the temporary closure of UTC Sibu was a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Sibu Division.
On Thursday, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced that the MCO would be enforced for 14 days from Jan 16 to 29 in Sibu Division in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases.
The committee said this would include the districts of Sibu, Kanowit, and Selangau.
