KUCHING: The Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in red zone areas will be temporarily closed and was made effective starting today. The centres will remain closed until March 1 throughout the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

This was issued in a statement by the State Implementation Monitoring Unit, Chief Minister’s Department (JKM) following the change of status of Kuching and Miri to red zones.

The temporary closure of the centres in both districts is a step to combat the spread of Covid-19.

This was issued following the decision of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Feb 13 to extend the imposed CMCO from Feb 15 until March 1 despite the increase of positive cases.

Members of the public who has any matters to be settled at UTC may do so after the said date.
