The schools, SJK(C) Guong Ming in Sg Bidut, SJK(C) Do Nang in Engkilo, and SJK(C) Keng Nang in Sg Maaw received upgrades to teaching equipment, including computers, sound systems and furniture.

Teaching hardware and software in rural schools have gradually improved, with some schools now boasting excellent facilities, Ling said.

“However, declining student enrollment remains a concern, driven by factors such as rural-urban migration, smaller family sizes and parental preference for urban schools.”

He emphasised the need for comprehensive discussions and research on learning environments and educational content to address this issue.

For SJK(C) Guong Ming, the funds were used to purchase a range of equipment, including a portable speaker set, 100 plastic chairs, three desktop computers and two 65-inch smart TVs.
