Underprivileged students receive aid from Tanjong Datu assemblyman

SEMATAN: A total of 200 students recently received basic food box donations here.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said the contribution is a gesture of concern for those in need, especially students and underprivileged families in Sematan.

“In addition, 30 basic food boxes will also be distributed to 30 families in need. This assistance is part of our effort to ease their burden. Hopefully, it will benefit those who are less fortunate,” he said.

He said this in his speech during this the National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) savings account contribution ceremony held here on Monday (January 20).

Meanwhile, Azizul said the Sarawak office of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has chosen SK Sematan as the host under the administration of the Lundu District Education Office.

“PTPTN is also attentive to the needs of the local community and supports education and welfare through a contribution of RM20,000 in the form of opening or increasing deposits in SSPN Prime savings accounts.

“On behalf of the government, I warmly welcome noble efforts like this that are continuously implemented by government agencies and non-governmental organizations,” he added.

Also present was state director of the Sarawak PTPTN office Yussuf Chik.
