KUCHING: Fifty beneficiaries of the B40 group received generous donations from the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) in conjunction with Fama’s MyBest Buy programme as part of the Petronas Le Tour De Langkawi 2020 (LTDL) event here, yesterday.

The initiative, named ‘Jom Kongsi Rezeki’, aims to provide a helping hand to underprivileged families of 400 people around the country.

Fama chairman Ishak Ismail said the donations given is a result of cooperation between Fama and Yayasan Prihatin Insan, a non-governmental organisation.

“The programme is part of Fama’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme where we share contributions given to us by local entrepreneurs under us (Fama).

“The contributions are gathered and distributed to underprivileged families in the form of food items for them to enjoy,” he said in a speech when officiating at the event yesterday.

It was made clear that the contributions are from entrepreneurs under Fama and visitors of Fama markets as well as contributors of the Yayasan Prihatin Insan.
