UiTM Sarawak records graduate employability rate of 87 pct

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak Branch has recorded a graduate employability rate of up to 87 per cent, said UITM Pro-Chancellor Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz.

He stated that UiTM has taken steps to empower its graduates to face the realities of the working world.

“For example, they are involved in research and international cultural exchange programmes, such as with Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan and Universitas Panca Bhakti in Indonesia.

“This exposure to the global community aligns with UiTM’s mission to produce graduates who are competitive, ethical, and competent,” he said.

He said in his speech during the third session of the 100th UITM Convocation Ceremony at the Jubilee Hall, UiTM Sarawak Branch, today.

Abdul Wahab emphasised UiTM’s commitment to producing high-quality graduates who meet market demands.

He added that UiTM Sarawak prioritises academic excellence and professional skills, in line with global advancements.

Meanwhile, he urged graduates to be more creative and versatile by diversifying their knowledge and acquiring valuable skills.

“This knowledge will help us all in carrying out our responsibilities to serve society and the nation.

“Maintain good character and uphold high ethical standards in all your endeavours,” he said.

The third session of the convocation ceremony witnessed the conferment of bachelor’s degrees and diplomas to 307 graduates.

The graduates were from the College of Built Environment, College of Creative Arts, Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology.

In the afternoon session, another 303 graduates were conferred bachelor’s degrees and diplomas.

They were from the College of Engineering, Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, and Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies.
