KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, joined the celebration of Datuk Seri Fong Joo Chung and Datin Seri Annie Yeo’s 50th wedding anniversary at the Ranyai Ballroom, Waterfront Hotel Kuching, last night (Jan 17).
The event, which began at 8.05pm, was attended by prominent leaders, including Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang; Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and his wife, Datin Amar Doreen Mayang; Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and his wife, Datin Amar Enn Ong Siok Ean; as well as Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, represented by his wife, Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud.
Other notable figures included State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and his wife, Puan Sri Datin Amar Fatimah Mohamad Iskandar; Minister of Women, Early Childhood Development, and Community Wellbeing Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah; and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang.
In their remarks, Wan Junaidi and wife conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to the couple, commending their 50-year journey as a testament to love, loyalty, and harmony in marriage.
He also expressed wishes for the couple’s continued happiness, health, and blessings in the years ahead.
