TYT hosts media practitioners for iftar at Astana Negeri Sarawak

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi hosted an iftar gathering to honour media practitioners at Astana Negeri Sarawak yesterday (Mar 24).

The event served as a token of appreciation for the media’s vital role in delivering accurate and responsible information to the public while also strengthening ties between Astana Negeri Sarawak and local journalists.

In a statement, the press office of the Head of State expressed its sincere gratitude to members of the media for their dedication and commitment in ensuring that Astana Negeri Sarawak’s activities and programmes are effectively shared with the public.

“Keep up the excellent work in delivering accurate and balanced information.

“May our collaboration continue with dedication and excellence in providing the best news for the people of Sarawak,” the statement read.

Among the media agencies present were Sarawak Tribune, Suara Sarawak, TVS, Unit Komunikasi Awam Sarawak (UKAS), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak, and the Malaysian Information Department (JAPEN) Sarawak.

The gathering was also attended by retired and veteran media professionals who have made significant contributions to journalism.

The evening commenced with light refreshments before guests performed the Maghrib prayers in congregation.

They then proceeded to enjoy a special dinner prepared by Astana Negeri Sarawak.

Following the meal, Wan Junaidi and wife took time to engage with their guests, exchanging warm conversations and capturing memorable moments through photographs as a gesture of appreciation.

The event continued with Isyak and Tarawih prayers, followed by a ‘moreh’ session.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, members of Wan Junaidi’s social circles, including the Wacana Group and Kaki Lima Yong Hua Group, along with residents of Kampung Pendam, Asajaya, were also invited in recognition of their continuous support.
