KUCHING: Jeremy, a 25-year-old local man, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Magistrate’s Court today (Mar 8) for attempting to steal funds from a mosque.
The sentence was handed down after Jeremy pleaded guilty to the charge presented before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.
He was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 511, for his attempt to steal money from a safe within the mosque’s premises.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 am on Tuesday (Mar 5) at a mosque in BDC.
