SIBU: Two vehicles were seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) here after they were found with expired road tax (LKM).
The car and van were stopped during Operasi Pengarah Bil.5/2025 carried out along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman yesterday (Apr 23).
Both drivers were issued summonses for the offence, which JPJ considers a serious breach of vehicle compliance.
In total, 28 summonses and 28 enforcement notices were handed out during the operation, covering a range of traffic violations.
Sarawak JPJ deputy director Nor Azlan Ibrahim and head of the operations section, enforcement officer Saifullah Ali, were present to oversee the operation.
More than 390 vehicles were inspected throughout the exercise, aimed at tightening enforcement and raising awareness on road safety.
