MIRI: Two people lost their lives in an accident involving a Perodua Kancil and a trailer on Monday night (Dec 30).
The collision occurred on Jalan Pan Borneo, near Bukit Song, and emergency services were alerted at 7.28 pm, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak Operations Centre.
A team of firefighters from the Lopeng Fire Station was dispatched to the scene to extricate the victims, who were trapped inside the Perodua Kancil.
Tragically, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by the medical personnel.
They have been identified as 48-year-old Patrick Guya and 61-year-old Roslind Layun Pad.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
