BETONG: Police are currently on the hunt for two foreigners to facilitate investigations into the murder of an oil palm plantation worker today (Feb 29).

Betong police chief DSP Zamry Alli said that they received information about a murder in an oil palm plantation here.

“The deceased, a foreign man, was found in a pool of blood with a single stab wound to his chest.

“It is believed that the deceased was stabbed with a sharp object by a suspect who has already been identified,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Further investigations are being carried out, and efforts to track down the two suspects, identified as Hairul Anas and Hasanun, are underway.

Zamry advised the public to cooperate with the police and channel information about the suspects’ whereabouts.

The public is urged to refrain from speculating on the incident.
