MIRI: Two individuals have to pay a heavy price for violating one of the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Just by not registering their details when entering the Miri Central Market here, the two were issued with a compound of RM1,500 each.
According to Miri City Council (MCC) in a statement today, the compounds were issued by the enforcement team from the council led by its assistant secretary Mohd Zaidi.
In the statement, the council said the offenders were unable to prove they had registered their personal particulars in the record book or scanning in through MySejahtera before entering the market.
During the same operations that started at 9am today, the team also inspected SOP compliance at other premises including Pasar Besar Krokop, Tamu Pujut Corner and the new Miri Fish Market.
No compound notice was issued at the said locations and premises.
MCC also advised the general public to seriously observe and comply with the SOP guidelines imposed at the markets, other business premises as well as the public places.
It stated that such operations will continue to be carried out by the enforcement personnel appointed by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
