Two drug suspects held

MUKAH: Narcotic police here on Monday (Apr 18) arrested two jobless men on suspicion of engaging in substance abuse in Kampung Judan.

The suspects were held for inspection by the police team during a raid at an unnumbered house at 11.45am.

Mukah OCPD DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said during the inspection the team found two straw tubes containing crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, inside a bag on the floor.

“The drugs weighing 0.30g with a street value of RM50, were seized as evidence.

“Both suspects and the seized item, were taken to the Mukah narcotic police office for further action,” he said.

Background checks found that one of them had three past records. Both were tested positive for drugs.

He pointed out that the suspects aged 25 and 38, had been involved in substance abuse since late last year.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
