Two dead in a three-vehicle collision

LUNDU: Two motorcyclists died on the spot after a three-vehicle accident occurred near Jalan Biawak junction, Jalan Lundu-Sematan today (June 4).

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Lundu station were swiftly deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 1am.

Upon arrival, they confirmed an accident did occurred involving two motorcycles and a Proton Gen 2.

As a result of the fatal accident, two male riders, whose identities were not known, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The firefighters helped to carry their bodies and placed them in a police vehicle to be taken to the hospital for post-mortem procedures.

Meanwhile, the Proton driver was unharmed in the collision.

Before ending the operation, firefighters conducted flushing works to clear the accident debris and ensure that the road is safe for other users.
