SIBU: Sarawak’s music scene is set to be electrified with the upcoming “Nusar Unleashed 2025” music festival, slated to take place at the Sibu Indoor Stadium on Feb 8 and 9.

Organising chairman Zulkifar Fariz Ahmad said the two-day event, a first of its scale in Sibu, will feature 26 bands – 17 from Sarawak and the rest from Peninsular Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia.

“Approximately 700 tickets have already been sold. We hope for more, as this is the first time such an event, which primarily promotes local bands, will be held here,” he told a press conference today (Jan 4).

The concert will run from 11 am to midnight daily, with evening slots reserved for out-of-state bands.

“Tickets are priced at RM60 for a single day and RM100 for a two-day pass. These can be purchased online through the NUSAR Jammed Fest Facebook page, where online buyers will also receive VIP passes,” he said.

A student pass for RM50 is available for those in institutions of higher learning to encourage youth participation.

Complementing the concert, an outdoor festival will be held from Feb 6 to 9.

“This festival, open to the public, will feature 100 stalls selling food, crafts, and locally made products. We hope this initiative will not only entertain but also support local industries and provide a platform for small businesses to flourish,” Zulkifar added.
