KUCHING: Sarawak is emerging as a promising partner for business collaborations with Turkey, said Emir Salim Yuksel, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Malaysia.
“I had the honour to meet with the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar today (Apr 18), and we discussed various matters, he said adding he was very interested and mindful of the development in the state.
“Today and tomorrow, I will be visiting Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and also meeting with several business organisations in Sarawak.
“What I am trying to do is to establish some connections between business members in Sarawak and of course among our delegation from Turkey,” he said.
He stated these when met by reporters after paying a courtesy visit to Wan Junaidi at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building yesterday.
Emir added that the courtesy visit was to discuss current developments related to trade, economic affairs, and relations between Turkish business members and Sarawak.
Furthermore, he believes that many countries are seeking business opportunities anywhere in different countries following the sluggish economies of the whole world during the COVID-19 pandemic.
