KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has called on the owner of an abandoned truck parked by the roadside of Jalan Pelabuhan, opposite Kuching Port (KPA) to take immediate action removing the vehicle from the public area within two weeks.

MBKS, in a statement yesterday, said that neglecting to adhere to the directive would result in the council impounding the truck.

The aforementioned truck, a Hino truck with the registration number MA7083Q, has been left unattended at the roadside for a considerable length of time.

MBKS has also served a notice in accordance with the Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By Laws, 1999, which has been securely affixed to the vehicle, emphasising the urgent requirement for its removal.

“In the event that the owners fail to comply with the removal notice, the council will consider the vehicle as abandoned waste and will take necessary action to relocate and dispose of it accordingly.

“Once the two-week deadline elapses, no claims pertaining to the vehicle will be entertained,” MBKS stated.
