BETONG: An injured lorry driver was trapped in his seat following a head-on collision with another lorry along Jalan Tanjung Assam here.

According to Betong Fire and Rescue (Bomba) Chief Vincent Baling Yabi, the driver had to be extricated from the cabin with special equipment.

“The victim was then rushed to Betong Hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement, yesterday.

The driver of the other lorry was not hurt in the accident which, according to Vincent, stemmed from a sedan vehicle going out of control on the road.

“The driver of the sedan did not suffer any injuries after his car fell into a ditch when he lost control of his vehicle ,” he said.

Also present at the location were personnel from the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) Betong.
