KUCHING: The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) in the Premier’s Department, has been recognised as a Good Practice Achiever under the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) certification.
This recognition reflects STIU’s efforts in driving public service excellence, enhancing productivity, and boosting the competitiveness of the Sarawak government through transformation and innovation initiatives.
The MBEF certificate was presented during a courtesy visit by Director-General of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC),Zahid Ismail to State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
“The recognition as a Good Practice Achiever under the MBEF certification is a significant milestone in STIU’s efforts to implement organisational excellence practices,” said Mohamad Abu Bakar in a statement yesterday (Jan 22).
“Sarawak’s public service remains committed to ensuring that transformation and innovation form the foundation of more efficient and responsive service delivery.”
He added that, apart from MBEF, other organisational transformation measurement methods practiced within Sarawak’s public service, such as the Sarawak Civil Service Quality Award (AKPANS) and the SCS Scorecard, also foster healthy competition among agencies for continuous improvement.
Indirectly, these efforts help ensure the best service delivery to the people, particularly in achieving the strategic pillars under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030), such as Ease of Doing Business.
Director of STIU Superi Awang Said explained that the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework is a framework adapted to the Malaysian context, based on international standards such as Baldrige Excellence, and aligned with global best practices to ensure organizations achieve high standards.
Also present were Deputy State Secretary(Operations) Datuk Hii Chang Kee,along with senior officers from MPC and the Premier’s Department.
