MERADONG: Traffic police have issued 15 summonses and seized four motorcycles during ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’ last Saturday.

The operation, aimed at clamping down on illegal racing activities and motorcycle modifications involving teenagers, was conducted along Jalan KJD, Gemuan and Bintangor town.

According to Meradong district police headquarters (IPD), a total of 15 traffic summonses were issued for various offences, including modified exhaust system, fancy licence plates, illegal vehicle modification, driving or riding without a licence, failure to display a licence plate, and lack of side mirrors.

Four motorcycles were also confiscated under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for further actions.

Following this, all motorcyclists are urged to comply with road regulations and refrain from modifying their vehicles, especially exhaust systems that cause excessive noise that can disturb public order.

In addition, parents are also advised to monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from engaging in reckless behaviour that endangers themselves or other road users.
