KUCHING: The Persatuan Penjaja dan Peniaga Bahagian Kuching dan Samarahan successfully hosted its annual food aid event on Jan 5, graced by the presence of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.
“The association, committed to supporting both its members and Kuching residents, reflected on its continued mission of providing aid, particularly to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” according to a press statement by Persatuan Penjaja dan Peniaga Bahagian Kuching dan Samarahan on Monday (Jan 6).
Since 2021, initiatives like the “Pack Meal Aid” and “Caring Food Aid” programmes have been instrumental in distributing food rations to individuals and families facing hardship.
This year, the event was made possible through the generous support of 38 Food Street Cafe, which donated 450 packs of dry rations.
“These were distributed to deserving individuals, charities, benevolent societies and homes as part of preparations for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to 38 Food Street Cafe and all our sponsors, whose unwavering support ensures the success of this charity event.”
