KUCHING: Senate President Datuk Mutang Tagal was a great political figure and leader, said Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
The Federal Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture said that Mutang was beloved for his dedication to the people, especially in Sarawak’s development.
“I am speechless upon learning this sad news. His departure is indeed a great loss not only to Sarawak but also to the nation. Personally, I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing.
“His service and contributions to the community will surely be remembered forever,” the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president said in his Facebook post yesterday (May 10).
In his post, Tiong, who is also the Bintulu MP, extended his condolences to Mutang’s family.
“May all family members and close acquaintances be given strength to face this sad situation,” he said.
