MIRI: Despite losing the Miri parliamentary seat back in 2013, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Pujut chairman, Datuk Sebastian Ting has been meeting people from all walks of life, everyday up to now.

“I’m still meeting the people and going to the ground, saying ‘hello’ and smiling to them,” said Ting who is also the BN-SUPP candidate for Miri this general election.

Ting was speaking to reporters during a brief media conference at the party’s Piasau office on Wednesday afternoon.

Also present were Mayor Adam Yii and Senadin Assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

Ting won the Piasau seat in the 2016 State election.

Well known as a kind and soft spoken, Ting is urging voters to support him this coming general election.

“Together with me we will protect Sarawak and move forward,” he said.

When asked on his preparation for the remaining six days of campaigning before polling day on May 9, Ting disclosed that so far it has been going on smoothly.

On Pakatan Harapan’s slogan of ‘change the government’, Ting said the opposition had been using the same strategy during every campaign to fish voters.

“I like Sarawak to move forward and I would like to see Sarawakians protect Sarawak,” he said, adding that voters could see and hear, and they know who to vote.
