KUCHING: The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) will hold another ticket sales blitz at Plaza Merdeka and Saradise Feast for fans of Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) and the Borneo Jazz (BJ) festival.
The sales promotion will take place from June 10 to 12 in the entry area of Saradise Feast and from June 11 to 12 in Plaza Merdeka.
“Both sales events will run from 10am to 10pm and Sarawak’s domestic travel companies and tour operators will be on the ground to promote both festivals,” an STB statement said today.
STB said the RWMF and Borneo Jazz events continued to advance its agenda on responsible tourism through its ecoGreenPlanet programme.
“For each purchase of the RMWF and Borneo Jazz virtual tickets, RM10 will be donated to the greening effort of tree-planting that will take place following the festivals,” it said.
The RWMF ticket will be priced at various categories such as pre-sale prices for Adult 1-Day Pass (RM165), Adult 3-Day Pass (RM405), Child 1-Day Pass (RM85), Child 3-Day Pass (RM195) and 1-Day Family Package Pass which includes two adults and two children at RM440.
The virtual tickets are priced at RM25 per one-hour block.
Meanwhile, for the Borneo Jazz public category, the 1-Day Pass is priced at RM128 per ticket, 2-Day Pass is RM228 per ticket and 3-Day Pass is RM338 per ticket.
“As for students and senior citizens, the 1-Day Pass is priced at RM88 per ticket, 2-Day Pass is RM128 per ticket and 3-Day Pass is RM188 per ticket.
“For virtual viewing, tickets are priced at RM25 per one-hour block.”

RWMF, which will take place from June 17 to 19, will feature a hybrid physical concert at the Sarawak Cultural Village as well as live streaming from the viewer’s own homes at rwmf.net.
RWMF will feature Malaysian artists such as Alena Murang, At Adau from Sarawak, Bamboo Woods from Sabah, as well as foreign acts from around the world.
“The festival is back with its familiar format of daytime workshops and evening concerts with an array of activities planned throughout the festival.
“Festival-goers can enjoy the arts and craft fair featuring the best of Borneo handicrafts among others, or savour a diverse choice of traditional delicacies from the food bazaar,” STB said.
Moreover, the Sarawak Cultural Village’s (SCV) daytime musical workshops will bring together a broad group of artists from several disciplines, bringing them together under common themes to exhibit, jam, and create original music.
Among the activities to look out for are the sape gathering that will bring together anyone who can strum a sape.
And a kiddie’s workshop to bring on the next generation where they can play with instruments, create art and enjoy the festival ground to their hearts’ content.
Meanwhile, the 17th edition of Borneo Jazz will be hosted in Coco Cabana, Miri, from June 24 to 26 in a hybrid format for the first time in order to reach out to a wider jazz-loving audience globally.
“Performers from Singapore, Japan, France, Switzerland, the United States, and Hungary, among others will showcase their jazz talent.” STB added.
Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAS), the national carrier of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has is the official airline partner of the Rainforest World Music Festival and the Borneo Jazz Festival 2022, with Karuna as the official ticketing partner.
