KUCHING: The introduction of ticket kiosks at the Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal has reduced congestion at ticket counters, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
“I am pleased to see this initiative, as the public no longer has to stand in long lines to buy tickets.
Congratulations on successfully addressing the issue of long queues for ticket purchases,” he told reporters after attending a road safety programme at the terminal on Friday.
The kiosks, while currently limited to a few bus operators, are expected to be expanded to all operators in stages, according to Kuching Sentral Ticketing Assistant Manager Tracy Likah.
“So far, there have been no complaints about using the kiosks, and the public finds them very convenient,” she said.
“The machines also support payment via debit card and SPay, in addition to cash payments.”
All passengers departing from Kuching Sentral will be charged a Terminal Facility Fee of RM1, collected during boarding pass issuance.
