LIVERPOOL (United Kingdom): The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their franchise-record win streak to 15 games with a 105-92 victory over the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 33 points, while the Thunder clamped down defensively in the second half, limiting the Celtics to just 27 points.
Luguentz Dort contributed 14 points, including key back-to-back three-pointers in the fourth quarter, helping Oklahoma City secure the win.
Despite trailing by as much as 13 points in the first half, the Thunder rallied, outscoring the Celtics 56-27 in the second half.
The Celtics were led by
Jayson Tatum’s 26 points and 10 rebounds, but struggled with their shooting, especially from beyond the arc, hitting just 9 of 46 three-pointers.
Jaylen Brown, returning from injury, scored 21 points but was held scoreless in the second half.
Oklahoma City’s defence was key, with Brown going 0-for-7 in the second half.
The Thunder will next face the Eastern Conference-leading Cavaliers after securing back-to-back wins over top teams. – AFP
